fdu’s Interim Practice is recruiting a Part-time Finance Director (1-2 days per week) for a VC-backed, start-up, product-based, e-commerce business. The entrepreneurial Client is looking for the company's first Finance Director to help the innovative business scale significantly in 2019. 

What are the Client’s requirements?

The Client needs…

• Audit background.
• Experience in a commerce or tech start-up environment. 
• A steward of the business; you will have responsibility for all financial management.
• Budgeting | Reporting | Modelling | KPIs | Supplier contracts. 
• A Candidate with an analytical approach. Someone with an ‘eagle eye’ to spot key financial and business trends, and from this the produce meaningful and insightful recommendations to continually improve business performance - Proactive. 
• Ideally VC | PE-backed company experience, but this is not essential. 

What do I need to be successful?

• A qualified accountant with a strong academic profile and audit pedigree. 
• At least 5 years’ PQE essential. 
• Experienced in a relevant sector i.e. e-commerce, retail, technology. Experience of commerce essential. 
• Strong systems skills. 'Tools savvy'. A Candidate with an appreciation of modern technology to improve business efficiency. 
• Hands-on | Attention to detail | Investigative nature | Problem solver. 
• Technically strong in all aspects of financial control and reporting.
• Well-presented | Strong communicator | Team Player
• Delivery focused | Innovative | Self-motivated | Collaborative.
• Experience as a Finance Director | Senior Financial Controller | Head of Finance (or equivalent) will be of interest.
