Hugely innovative, forward-thinking and market-leading FMCG food group have an opportunity for a Financial Accountant within a key site, based in West Lothian.

 

Working within a well-established and collaborative finance team of 5 people you will enjoy a high degree of variety and a sensible level of autonomy.  You will manage the transactional finance team (AP and AR focused) and be responsible for supporting the Head of Finance in all aspects of management of smooth monthly reporting / month end.

You will enjoy the variety and accountability of an SME coupled with the support and challenge of working within a large market-leading PLC group.

 

 You will ideally have a strong foundation of core accounting skills and have completed a professional qualification (AAT as a minimum).  Candidates qualified by experience will be considered.

 

 The role will include:

 

Supporting with management accounting processes, investigating variances and supporting budget holders to manage spend and control overhead costs. Working capital, cashflow reporting. Budgeting and forecasting. Month end close, query resolution and reconciliations. Balance sheet reconciliations Team leadership (managing a team of 3 across transactional finance areas).  You will:

 

Have previous experience of financial accounting – be able to review and instil robust controls to ensure accurate and detailed monthly reporting. Have experience of cashflow forecasting. Be looking to manage a small team. Be comfortable with balance sheet reconciliations, journals, month end close. Have a hands-on attitude and ability to work in a lean collaborative team. Have previous experience of a manufacturing / retail or distribution setting ideally. Have a confident practical knowledge of Excel and an ability to analyse data swiftly. Be comfortable working closely with non-finance colleagues at site level across operational areas of the business. Be AAT qualified as a minimum ideally.
