Elevation Recruitment Group are recruiting for a dynamic and well-respected south Yorkshire business as they look to strengthen their team with the hire of a Senior Financial Analyst for their Head office operation in Rotherham.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, this is a new role that has been created to support the FP&A and commercial teams in bringing critical financial expertise and insight to help drive, influence and shape financial performance in order to improve decision making across the business. You will be very much interpreting data from GL codes and management accounting packs to add pivotal value to the business partnering element of the finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting the FP&A and Commercial Finance Manager to build new and develop existing models in order to improve insight and analysis into the business performance.

- Building new Excel Models to be used across the business functions. Initially, focusing on developing new Budget & Forecast models (Both P&L and detailed balance sheet) and cost centre reporting packs
- Support the business with sufficient insight through data analysis to improve the decision making process, especially around product and customer profitability
- Develop models to analyse profitability and return of commercial & business proposals across a range of departments, including Product, Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain and Finance
- Ensuring the business is utilising resources to automate as many of the processes as possible, and are working to best practices
- Work with all areas of the Business to monitor and reduce costs and identify opportunities for profitable growth and monitor its implementation through the forecasting and budgeting process
- Interfaces with Finance Operations at month end and understands variances
- Producing bridge analysis and explanation for variance from budget/Forecast
- Acting as a champion for financial modelling across the business.

Key Skills:

- ACA, ACCA or CIMA accounting qualification
- Advanced Excel skills with experience of managing large and complex data sets
- Significant experience of designing and delivering high quality financial analysis
- Experience of data visualisation packages such as Tableau or Power BI would be useful but not essential
- Ability to deliver and thrive in a fast-moving environment
- Excellent communication skills
