Exciting  opportunity for a commercially minded Financial Controller to head up the finance function of an established c. £6m turnover international on-line retailer which is based in East London, and about to enter into an exciting new chapter. 

The Financial Controller will work closely with and support the MD/business owner as their confidant.  It is real opportunity for an innovative and focused Financial Controller to make their mark and develop their career.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supported by a team of 2, the Financial Controller will look after all financial management and control and improve and develop the company’s financial management, management reporting and systems.  Key responsibilities:

Oversee all bookkeeping and compliance, monthly and annual departmental management accounts, KPIs, stock takes, manage the ERP system, budgeting and forecasting, modelling, cashflow planning and control, credit control, salary input, and all financial administration. You will also handle HR, Health and Safety, GDPR compliance and personal family financial matters.

THE PERSON

You will have previous financial control experience and excited by the prospect of adding value to the business and taking ownership of the finance function. 

Key requirements of the Financial Controller:

• Structured and detailed, yet more than a bean counter. 
• Ability to make the numbers come alive and explain them to non-financial staff and stakeholders.
• Qualified or part-qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA with a stable track record as head of accounts, or an existing number 2, ready to take on a new challenge. 
• Advanced Sage L50, Excel and software skills
• Strong reconciliation skills and knowledge of ERP would be an advantage.
• Experience of accounting for on-line trading.
