Accountant - Cost Decision Support. Our client, a successful manufacturing/engineering business in Peterborough, part of a major international group, is currently recruiting for an Accountant - Cost / Decision Support
Location: Peterborough
Salary: £39,000-46,000 (Depending on Experience)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accountant role within the Investment Analysis team at its facility in Peterborough. The successful candidate will be required to perform forward looking investment appraisal on a variety of projects related to New Product Introduction (NPI), Product sourcing and manufacturing footprint decisions.
Whilst this opportunity sits in the Finance function, a key component of this role will be effective business partnering with Product Managers and other stakeholders from the wider business.
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
* Determining Internal Rate of Return (IRR) for medium to high complexity projects
* NPI (New Product Introduction) support including future cost, should cost, alternative analyses and strategy
* Manufacturing footprint studies for a variety of products across global manufacturing locations
* Analysis of OPACC (Operating Profit After Capital Charge) calculations and analysis
* Cost Tracking of key strategic projects
* Low cost producer analysis
Skills and Experience:
Candidates will have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:
* Educated to a degree level or qualified by experience
* Professional Certification (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
* First rate analytical skills, with the ability to summarise and present at senior levels
* Effective communication of financial data to non-financial customer group
* The ability to demonstrate strong customer focus
Candidates may have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:
* Proven record of strong initiative, leadership, accountability and effective communication skills
* Experienced user of MS Excel and PowerPoint
* Experience of accounting within a manufacturing environment
