Group Accountant

A regionally celebrated and successful institution is looking for a new Group Accountant as part of a new initiative aimed at driving forward what is already a established finance department. The business is looking for an experienced and dependable individual to take up this varied Group Accountant role in their Chesterfield location.
The business is looking for a strong technical accountant, who can take ownership of the monthly accounts and provide pertinent financial reports that will be directly used to assess where the company is financially, before then being used to help define where the strategy lies moving forward. You must enjoy technical accounting processes - including profit and loss preparation, balance sheet and cash flow management. Maintaining and controlling records within the management accounts, ensuring all appropriate reconciliations and necessary adjustments are completed are just some of the monthly tasks.

You will be responsible for the completion and timely submission of Statutory and Government statistical returns, as well as managing VAT and assisting with information for the payroll process. However, this is not an out and out desk job, and you must be able to partner with the rest of the business - both in and out of finance. You will produce the KPI reports and present the narrative to the Head of Finance, whilst having ownership and management of the organisation's relationships with the bank.
