New Finance Business Partner Role (Operations) for Rapidly Growing SME in North Manchester


Your new company
Our client are a rapidly growing SME who were recently bought out by a larger group. The group have now provided an influx of investment to facilitate their ambitious growth plans.

Your new role

  • Act as a finance business partner to internal stakeholders in order to drive execution of the strategy:

- Establish themselves as a trusted business partner for the Finance, Marketing and Supply Chain Teams
- Support profitability growth and expansion of the current business

  • Cost of goods

- Cost reporting: cost control against targets across all suppliers and products.
- Cost improvement, especially where you can influence volume discounts and complexity reduction. Monitoring costs where cost plus arrangements are in place (liquids manufacturing).
- Cost of quality: tracking and improving front loaded cost quality (PSL) and monitoring back loaded cost of quality (returns/recalls).

  • Logistics

- Setting budgets and tracking costs of inbound and outbound supply chain
- Working with the procurement to control/reduce freight and fulfilment cost
- Monitoring warehouse costs aiming to optimise those

  • Manage and co-ordinate review of P&L submission as part of the local planning process (Sales & Operational Planning):

- Develop and review forecast and budget submissions and assumptions ensuring interaction and alignment with local, area, regional and global stakeholders.
- Perform month-end closing processes, track performance against budgets, review run-rates, analyse variances and perform sensitivity analyses.
- Provide insightful financial analysis to assess impact of decisions and drive results
- Identify, implement, review and drive effective internal financial planning and reporting processes and controls:

  • Ensure Company Delegated Authorities is accurately maintained and followed;

- Identify opportunities to modify processes and reporting to make them more efficient, whilst maintaining a strong control environment;
- Act as super user for financial processes checking the suitability and integrity of the systems and processes in place and updating when necessary.

What you'll need to succeed
You will ideally be a qualified accountant. You will need commercial finance experience and the ability to communicate with various internal stakeholders, of which the majority will not be finance.
