Financial Reporting Manager

Based in St Albans, Hertfordshire, our client is an exciting, growing business looking for a Financial Reporting Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.

This job would suit a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or ACMA) to lead the monthly reporting close and manage a high performing team as well as implementing and developing key financial processes and systems.

This company is a highly successful international business with a growing number of sites across the UK and significant expansion internationally. The business is a market leader in its industry and is continuing to grow its portfolio into new markets.

The successful individual will be a Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA) with a strong reporting skillset and the proven ability to lead, manage and develop a team. UK & US GAAP and working knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley is advantageous. A good analytical skill set and a questioning attitude is essential as are developed IT skills coupled with a practical working knowledge of Oracle.

Duties will include:

  • Manage the monthly close reporting cycle, liaising with business partners on resolution of urgent issues arising during close process
  • Provide strategic direction with regards to improving efficiency, consistency and documentation
  • Ensure process lists are maintained and managed to deadlines, taking remedial action on delayed inputs
  • Prepare and review journals and balance sheet reconciliations ensuring SOX compliance is maintained
  • Provide analysis, explanations and commentary as required on results and forecasts as part of the production of monthly board reporting pack
  • Supporting group consolidations with relevant analytical commentary
  • Ensure compliance with group accounting policies and procedures
  • Responsible for production of cash flow statements
  • Manage interaction of team with Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable functions
  • Deliver process improvements in Accounting and wider Finance teams through use of IT systems
  • Ensure financial systems are maintained to the required standard
  • Become functional subject matter expert on Oracle, working with technical support teams to deliver continual improvement
  • Assist in the integration of acquisitions and business expansion
  • Manage audit process (internal & external) providing analysis and support in line with required deadlines
  • Ad-hoc projects as required
