Financial Accounting Manager

Based in Hatfield, our global client is looking for a qualified accountant to join them as Financial Accounting Manager for a 3 month interim assignment that may offer the chance to become permanent if relevant.

This job would suit an ACA or ACCA qualified accountant who is available on short notice to be responsible for the generation of monthly internal accounts as well as the statutory accounts for a number of different international legal entities.

The successful individual will strong experience of financial accounting, reporting and controls ideally within a large or complex organisation. The team covers a wide scope of areas including: accruals and prepayment; lease accounting; revenue recognition; variance analysis; functional reporting; balance sheet reconciliations; fixed assets accounting and various treasury activities so a confident understanding of these is critical. Knowledge of Oracle would be advantageous but not essential.

Duties will include:

Team management and frequent processes

• Supporting consolidated UK and Ireland monthly close process
• Management of 2 staff

Corporate Reporting

• Completion of analytics for central corporate team
• Collation and review of quarterly reporting packs including fixed asset roll forwards, capex spend reconciliations and inventory disclosures
• Preparation of bridge analysis for period on period comparisons where requested.
• Participation in close calls with corporate finance to present monthly results and discuss key transactions, variances or exceptional results.

Year end

• Planning and delivery of statutory accounts for different entities, managing all requirements both upwards and downwards.

Control environment

• Managing relationship with both external and Internal audit teams
• Ownership of SOX control documentation and compliance.

Other deliverables

• Analysis of the application of accounting standards to changes in the business and/or impact analysis of changes to the applicable accounting standards.
• Goodwill and Investment impairment analysis
