Parkinson Lee Executive Search, part of the Elevation Recruitment Group, are currently looking to appoint an Interim Head of Group Tax for a global manufacturing organisation. The role will be based in the South Yorkshire head office, initially, the role will be on a 3-6 month contract.
Specifically, you will:
*Be responsible for ensuring group adheres to necessary tax regulatory filing requirements
*Identify, analyse and advise the business on the optimal tax efficiency of potential tax-sensitive transactions
*Consistently identify, assess and mitigate risk/exploit opportunities in line with the group's tax strategy and governance policies to manage effective tax rates
*Be responsible for producing and communicating the accounting tax position on a timely and accurate basis
*Consider and recommend an appropriate strategic direction from a tax perspective for the future
*Promptly and accurately advise internal stakeholders on the impact of incoming legislative changes and effectively manage the impact on the business
*Implement tax planning efficiently and effectively, influencing and driving change within the business
*Research, prepare and present accurate and incisive technical reports to internal and external stakeholders tailoring appropriately for the end user
*Influence and negotiate with HMRC as necessary
*Provide constructive challenge to the management team where plans are unclear or pose financial risk(s), and proactively support them to find solutions
*Make a strong contribution to continuous improvement in the business unit and the wider finance team, identifying and implementing ways in which we can improve how effectively and efficiently we work.
*Ensure the business unit assets are safeguarded through effective authorisation and control procedures and ensuring adherence to group policies
*Manage or participate in ad hoc project activities as required
The successful candidate will be/have:
*A qualified Accountant
*A professional Tax qualification
*Significant amount of post qualification specialist tax experience
*Expert knowledge of UK Corporation tax, indirect tax and international tax regimes
*Excellent communication skills
