Assistant Accountant

I am currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join an impressive and growing manufacturer in Crewe. As number two to the Finance Manager you will be joining at an exciting time with an opportunity to fast-track your finance career.

Responsibilities and duties:

* Assist in the production of the monthly operational reports
* Nominal ledger account reconciliations
* Maintain fixed asset register
* Assist in the preparation of annual budgets
* Prepare daily and weekly revenue reports and graphs
* Foreign currency purchasing
* Sales revenue and statistical analysis
* Ensure monthly income statements and balance sheet reports are prepared in accordance with IFRS standards
* Post journals promptly
* Assist with audit requirements and act as main contact during the audit
* Preparation of quarterly VAT and supply for HMRC submission
* Champion for 'Making Tax Digital'
* Prepare and circulate regular cash flow reports on a weekly basis or as needed
* Work with the purchase and sales ledger functions to control foreign currency purchases/sales as necessary
* Assist the finance Manager in the daily office administration such as desk reviews
* Assist with ensuring accurate Intercompany recharges are processed each month, reconcile the recharge accounts in a timely manner

Qualifications & Experience:

* Demonstrable experience in a previous, similar role
* Nominal ledger, balance sheet and treasury experience
* Manufacturing experience would be beneficial
* AAT/CIMA/ACCA part-qualified/actively-studying
* Strong Excel skills
