Finance Analyst

Cedar is seeking a Finance Analyst on a permanent basis for a Large multi-site business which works closely with the retail sector. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to gain commercial experience in there next role and would like to be part of an exciting business.
Principal accountabilities
·Business analysis expert providing financial scenario modelling to support strategic planning and business decision making.
·Develop, implement and maintain the reporting pack which includes product P&Ls and reporting.
·Early insight into any unusual variances and anomalies, working with the Finance Manager and FSC Accounting Manager to understand and resolve.
·Support all strategic projects through analysis, accounting and reporting.
·Take the Finance lead on all Travel Insurance operational reporting including that for aggregators.
·Analyse and review supplier financial information to ensure reports are produced accurately and that commission is being calculated correctly.
·Coordinate and Manage sign-off process from product team, CFO and CEO.
·Own income accrual process for Motorbike, Pet, Lifestyle and Business Insurance products.
·Construct appropriate journals at each period end.
·Liaise with FSC Accounting Manager to ensure all income receipts are correctly posted in the system.
·Provides quality analysis to support all aspects of Finance, including presentation of findings back to those groups.
·Streamline month end reporting processes with the aim of automating them by way of programming macros using Visual Basics for applications (VBA) in Excel.
·Produce a monthly expenditure report to the Marketing Team, aiding them to track and understand their spend activity against all product cost centres - challenging them to stay within budget/Forecast.
·Assist with half-year and year-end financial audit processes performed by external auditor.
·Provide ad hoc support to the Finance Manager and CFO and the wider product teams.
·Responsible for ensuring compliance with any specific legislative, regulatory, or contractual requirements.

Experience required
·Experience in a commercial or operational finance environment.
·Experience in providing finance analysis and management reporting to a financial services organization
