Finance Manager

Our Client, a leading Commercial Company based in the West London area are currently recruiting for a Finance Manager to join their team. You will be a part of a start up and entrepreneurial environment and have experience of working within a role where you have had the opportunity to implement and process improvements. It is an exciting time for the business with lots of change happening at a fast pace so they are really looking for someone to fully embrace this also.

This position will give you the opportunity to have full day to day ownership of all financial accounting tasks as well as playing a supporting role in driving the business forward through insight and analysis.

Reporting to the Finance Director, your key responsibilities will include:

• Establishing and maintaining robust controls, accounting policies and best practice within the finance team
• Taking full ownership of the month end process, including preparation & presentation of monthly management pack to the FD, ensuring the highest levels of integrity & accuracy are maintained
• Providing insight & understanding into business performances through detailed variance analysis taking ownership of any work-streams that arise
• Managing the outsourced payroll provider to ensure accuracy of monthly payroll & PAYE
• The management of outsourced accountants in delivery of year-end financial reports
• Preparation of the monthly balance sheet reconciliations and quarterly VAT returns
• Reconciling bank accounts, supplier invoices, expenses claims & intercompany transactions
• Ad-hoc analysis to enhance stakeholder understanding of the presentation of financial reporting

Person Specification:

• Recognised professional accountancy qualification - Newly Qualified in ACCA/ACA/CIMA/CA) or 3+ years experience in a Financial Accounting role
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Demonstrable track record in driving systems and continuous process improvement.
• A capable self-starter, able to self-direct work in a changing environment - experience of working within a start up or entrepreneurial environment would be a huge advantage
