Financial Controller

A brand new role due to growth and diversification this company provides commercial services. The Group is growing fast and has recently been re-structured to accommodate this.

The role and its responsibilities

Reporting to the Finance Director the role includes the following:

▪ Ownership for internal reporting, including month-end management accounts;

▪ Preparation of year-end accounts for all companies within the Group;

▪ Reviewing and updating the company’s forecasts, budgets and cashflow forecasting;

▪ Managing the company’s compliance in respect of taxes (corporation tax, VAT, payroll etc);

▪ Ensuring a strong controls environment exists across the company, seeking continuous

improvements in productivity and accuracy;

▪ Ownership of accounting and reporting systems, ensuring they are used to their full potential;

▪ Leading and developing a small finance team;

▪ Working with the operations and commercial teams to better analyse and improve performance;

▪ Taking responsibility for credit control and making decisions on risk;

▪ Other ad hoc investigative, analysis and new project work as appropriate.

The successful candidate

▪ You are a qualified accountant ACA/ACCA and 5+ years PQE, a strong technical background ideally with a practice experience with or without industry experience.

▪ You are both computer-literate and open to change. You have strong office-based computer skills (particularly Excel and Powerpoint) and can communicate confidently both written and in person.

▪ You will have experience with Sage Accounts (or similar) and a willingness to learn how to use the main internal software for reporting.

The head office is Surrey but you may occasionally be asked to work from another location in the UK to suit the business needs.
