Senior Finance Analyst

This successful engineering and manufacturing business is part of a global company with a reputation for innovation and high quality service. A recent internal restructuring has created a vacancy for a commercially aware accountant to provide financial information and analysis to support strategic objectives and decision making.

The role position will be offered for a fixed term of 6 months will involve working with Director level stakeholders, commercial and project managers in addition to site and group level Financial Controllers. The ideal candidate would have strong Excel skills, the ability to prepare financial models and preferably experience with SAP. Some experience with project / contract or engineering accounting from a commercial environment would be beneficial although not essential. Duties will include:

• Compilation of monthly financial reporting back, including divisional performance review, variance analysis & commentary and project status summary
• Budgeting and financial forecasting, flash reporting of results
• Supporting operational planning and preparing project profitability analysis
• Co-ordinating month end close with Financial Controller
• Controlling monthly project billing, account reconciliations and revenue recognition
• Ensuring accuracy of long-term contract accounting (WIP, revenue, un-billed items etc.)

This position would suit someone with experience from a commercial finance, management accountant or project accountant type role. Strong communication skills are essential as you will support senior managers and the leadership team with project reviews and analysis, you must also be able to operate as a team player in a fast moving, deadline driven environment.
