Gleesons are currently working with an excellent FTSE100 business based in Northampton who are recruiting for an Assistant Financial Controller. This role would suit a newly qualified accountant (ACA,ACCA,CIMA) looking for a move into a team management senior level position within an important division.

Key Duties, Assistant Financial Controller: Northampton

  • Support the Financial Controller with Month End Management Accounts and Reporting
  • Responsibility for internal monthly reporting for revenue, cost, capex, working capital, balance sheet, and headcount, to support the Financial Controller with the Divisional monthly reporting requirements and timetable
  • Support the Financial Controller to drive through operational and financial improvements, developing a culture of cost effectiveness and improving the quality of management information
  • Support the preparation of budget and financial forecasts across revenue, cost, capex, working capital, balance sheet, and headcount
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen
  • internal controls
  • Support sales growth whilst identifying and delivering efficiencies in the back-office process
  • Become a trusted and valued business partner to the operations and sales teams
  • Manage documentation of all key finance processes and controls
  • Ensure adequate financial control is in place and adhered to, including all key balance sheet elements (Fixed Assets, Debtors, Accruals & Prepayments)
  • Support the integrity of the Enforcement planning and reporting, taking particular ownership over sales/revenue classification and phasing
  • Provide meaningful, value adding analysis on issues impacting the business
  • Support on forecasting/budgeting/BP processes
  • Relate business performance to financial impact and inform the Enforcement management team as appropriate

Key Skills & Experiences, Assistant Financial Controller: Northampton

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, ACA/ACCA/CIMA newly qualified
  • Computer literacy to include a strong understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint) - experience of SAP advantageous
  • Demonstrate and maintain up to date knowledge of relevant national and international accounting standards and policies applicable to the business, as well as keeping familiar with other external factors such as regulatory changes which could impact operations
