Personal Tax Portfolio Manager, working for a successful practice based in Winchester.

Your new firm
You will be working for an independent professional firm of Chartered Accountants and Tax Advisors based in Winchester, currently comprising 5 directors and c45 staff. The firm specialises in the farming industry, agricultural businesses, landed estates and private clients, and offer a complement of Chartered Accountancy and Tax Services.
The practice retains a strong relationship with its clients by the directors being closely involved in all aspects of the service provided.

Your new role
You will be managing a portfolio of rural and agricultural clients focusing on personal tax. This role will be heavily compliance based with an element of advisory work for Directors and Partners along with capital gains tax.
This is a business with a "flat" business structure, which means they only hire experienced professionals to join their team. This environment would suit individuals who are not looking to manage a team and train junior members of staff, but whose skills lie in managing a client portfolio and focusing on "doing" rather than people-managing.
Reporting into the Directors, this is a great business opportunity which will suit someone who enjoys working autonomously.

What you'll need to succeed
Ideally you will need a minimum of seven years practice experience managing a personal tax/private client portfolio. You will be looking to work autonomously as opposed to managing a team of staff, and should you have experience of dealing with trust accounts this would be hugely advantageous. You will need to be CTA or ATT qualified alongside your wealth of experience, although if you are "qualified by experience" you will also be equally considered.

What you'll get in return
Alongside a competitive salary there is a strong benefits package and an excellent pension on offer (starting at 8%) plus other benefits including a parking permit. There is plenty of scope for future learning and progression up to Director level for the right individual. You will be able to work autonomously with no micro-managing and develop strong ongoing relationships with clients. There is already a strongly established client base and much of their new business comes from referrals, so a large amount of business development is not required in this role, although you will be expected to be forward-thinking in your approach.
