An interesting charity based in York currently seeks an experienced Project Accountant.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for controlling and monitoring income and costs on multiple projects, including reporting on variances and forecasting outturn. The individual will act as a liaison between the Finance, project delivery teams and support function teams.

The role will also be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and validity of the content of their allocated Balance Sheet accounts and may include monthly payroll verification.

The Project Accountant's primary responsibilities are to provide a comprehensive accounting service to all staff which will include but is not limited to the following:-
*Monthly management accounts production, reporting and analysis:
*Interface with budget holders on (at least) a fortnightly basis
*Monitor project performance, supporting teams in their understanding of financial performance
*Drive consistency and predictability in month/quarterly financials
*Investigate and report on project margins, variances and forecasts, highlighting risks and proposed actions
*Monitor and report to the Head of Finance any issues regarding the impact of revenue recognition matters
*Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data and information, immediately reporting to the Head of Finance if issues are found
*Process monthly journals
*Monthly Balance Sheet, accruals and deferrals reconciliations undertaken, fully documented and narrated
*Assist with monthly cashflow forecasting
*Undertake allocated month end tasks.

To be considered for this role you will ideally be CCAB qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) or be towards the latter stages of your studies. The organisation can also offer a market leading holiday allowance and pension contribution.
