Description:
The client is one of the UK's leading independent accountancy practices with
offices in Manchester, London and Blackburn. We have been providing support and
advice to clients for over 100 years and have a strong reputation built on a long established tradition of providing quality services. We take strength from our history, but
recognise that success comes from never standing still.
An opportunity has arisen to join our Manchester based Not for Profit (NFP) Team.
Our NFP Team provides high quality external audit services, in addition to training and
consultancy, to the voluntary and public sector, including social housing providers,
charities and academies.
We are looking to recruit an experienced candidate to support the External Audit
Partners/Senior Managers in delivering a high quality, client focused and efficient
external audit service. Our commitment to client service sets us apart from other
providers of audit and you should be able to demonstrate your own commitment to
service excellence.
Responsibilities include:
Managing a portfolio of clients, from undertaking planning, to reviewing and
approving work and attending Audit Committee meetings;
Managing a team of trainees and experienced and qualified auditors;
Preparing and presenting tender documentation for potential new work.
You will have experience as a Manager of external Audit services. Excellent
communication skills are required, both written and verbal and you should be confident
at communicating with client staff at all levels, including Board Members. We have a
proactive and high performing team and you will be committed to enhancing and building
their skills and experience, as well as to developing more junior staff.
You will have proven experience of the NFP sector including housing associations,
charities and academies.
We have a national client base and therefore this position requires some travel
throughout the country and occasionally some overnight stays. In addition, there will be
a requirement to attend evening Audit Committee meetings. A full driving licence and car
is essential.
EXTERNAL AUDIT MANAGER
(Manchester Office)
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual ideally possessing at least 2 years'
experience as a Manager and who is minimum ACA qualified or equivalent.
In return, your skills will be developed rapidly in this professional and dynamic
environment and you will be provided with the opportunity to be part of a growing
business, in an expanding department, with good career development prospects.
