Regional Finance Director 

North of England and London 

Up to £90,000

Our client is a major UK Social Enterprise in the transport industry, turning over £80mn per annum, and with operations the length and breadth of the United Kingdom.

With substantial growth anticipated, as a result of new contract awards and M&A activity, the CFO has taken the decision to appoint new Regional Finance Directors to the Finance team, responsible for operations in London and those contracts outside the South East.

Key responsibilities of the Finance Director will include:

• Ensuring the business maximises commercial opportunities to improve sales and margins, control costs, and appropriately manage risk.
• Provide business information that informs and provides real outcomes for departmental heads that is transparent and enables clear decision making. Drive to continually improve the presentation of data to deliver stronger commercial insights.
• Manage and develop Finance Business Partners within your region to ensure effective performance and the finance team adds value to the organisation by working cross functionally to drive organisational performance.
• Ensuring the annual budgets and forecasts for the business are prepared in accordance with group requirements.
• Provide timely and considered financial and commercial support to the Regional Operations Leader and the CFO acting as a business partner.
• Support the Board in monthly reviews of business performance, providing financial direction so that future business opportunities are maximised, with best financial results delivered.
• Accounting and reporting is performed by the business against agreed timetables and accepted accounting practice.

The new Finance Director will be a Qualified Accountant with significant post-qualification experience with the stature and presence to quickly establish yourself as a trusted business partner across the business. Experience of working across the Transport industry will be highly relevant, but our client is also keen to consider candidates from the Supply Chain and Manufacturing sectors, and ones closely related.   

Prospective candidates will need to demonstrate broad financial management skills, together with keen commercial acumen as well as excellent communication skills and a willingness to accept responsibility and influence decision making.
