Overall Purpose of the Management Accountant Job:

To provide a key contribution in the preparation of the management accounts. The Management Accountant will be responsible for preparing contract labour, freight accruals accruals/prepayments, monthly vendor reconciliations, GRNI cleardown and purchasing savings reporting.  The Management Accountant will also provide support to other members of the finance team and complete ad hoc work as and when required.

 

Main Responsibilities of the Management Accountant:

  • To manage the current contract labour accrual process. This will involve the reconciliation of actual hours worked versus what has been invoiced, and reconcile back to supplier statements.
  • To manage, review and improve the current contract freight accrual process. This will require reconciling expenditure by freight provider.
  • To reconcile and report site purchasing savings.
  • To complete monthly vendor reconciliations.
  • To document all processes within their responsibility.
  • To manage and run the GRNI clear down process.
  • To complete Balance Sheet reconciliations with full audit trail.
  • To participate in quarterly internal control reviews as part of the SOX testing process.
  • To support with internal and external audits.
  • To provide ad hoc support as and when required.

  • Comply with all relevant HSE legislation and local policies and procedures.

Key Skills and Qualifications of the Management Accountant:

Technical Skills

Required:

  • Excellent IT skills especially Excel

Preferred:

  • BPCS experience
  • Good working knowledge of IBM iSeries (AS400)
  • Automotive experience
  • Manufacturing experience

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • CIMA / ACCA Part Qualified Accountant (Approaching finalist stage)

Preferred:

  • Finance / Business Degree
