Elevation Senior Finance are currently looking to recruit a Finance Manager on behalf of a service organisation based in Pontefract.

Reporting to the Financial Director, you will you will be responsible for managing the production and reporting of management and statutory accounts, and ensuring effective controls and processes are in place.

Key Responsibilities will include:

- Producing accurate and timely management and statutory accounts
- Reviewing and interpreting the results to ensure integrity of the accounts, understanding key movements and variances
- Maintaining general ledgers
- Reporting of financial accounting information as requested
- Managing the month-end process and timescales
- GL / balance sheet reconciliations - reviewing, signing off and following up on a monthly basis and investigating and resolving any discrepancies
- Reviewing VAT returns/Intrastat/NSO returns
- Providing monthly, quarterly and annual statutory information to parent company
- Tax packs
- Cash flow management and forecasting
- Managing fixed assets, verification and control
- Complying with internal and external financial policies, standards and controls, whilst understanding the impact of own role on other areas
- Working with the business to drive, improve and enhance controls, documentation and the control framework

The successful Finance Manager will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills and experiences:

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills - both written and verbal
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and able to work to tight deadlines
- Strong analytical and forecasting skills
- Technical accounting skills
- Clarity of vision and ability to drive change
- Effective team leadership skills
- Advanced Excel skills and experience of other financial systems
- Experience of working in fast-paced, complex environment
- Proven experience of financial and management accounting
- Experience of managing a team and experience of working in a regulated environment
- Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent experience
- Ideally ACA, ACMA or CIMA qualified
