We are currently working with a prestigious charity based in London who are looking to recruit an Income Accountant on an initial 12 month contract.
Reporting to the Financial Controller you will be responsible for ensuring that all income received is correctly recorded and reconciled on a timely basis, complying with all statutory requirements. Managing a small team your key duties will include:
- Income that is complete and accurate is recorded in the accounting system in a timely manner. Discrepancies between the accounting system and the supporter database are identified and resolved. Funds are managed consistently across the two systems and aligned with those in the grants management database
- Gift Aid tax claims are made to HMRC on a regular and timely basis, are complete and accurate and with an appropriate level of audit assurance of this
- Donor requirements around income are fully complied with to ensure completeness and accuracy of income. Income reports to DEC and other consortia are completed and submitted according to the requirements of the body concerned
- Income Unit members are supported and developed; opportunities for enhancements to their roles are identified and implemented.
- Systems are reviewed on an ongoing basis, and recommendations for changes or upgrades are reviewed with the Senior Systems Officer
The successful candidate will possess experience of SUN systems (with Q&A) and PROACTIS, You will also have managed staff and have a high level knowledge of complex bank and general ledger account reconciliations.
