Exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Controller to join this organisation based in Burnham, Buckinghamshire. Reporting to the FD the key purpose of the Financial Controller role is ownership of the Various Companies Accounting functions and the accurate filing of statutory accounts and payment of taxes for all companies operated by the UK HQ and the effective management of the Finance Teams in the various Locations plus providing relevant and timely information to the Board

Principal Accountabilities of the Financial Controller Role include :

  • Manage teams across various locations
  • Ensure the effective running of the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll processes
  • Group quarterly consolidation
  • Full ownership of the monthly accounts preparation for all companies
  • Detailed project variance analysis
  • Board Reporting
  • Ensuring integrity of the balance sheet in all companies
  • Cashflow forecasting and funding requirements
  • Maintaining banking relationships
  • Review/assist the with the Monthly/Quarterly VAT and CIS Returns
  • Identify and implement improvements in the efficiency of the processes used
  • Ownership of the production and filing of statutory accounts. This includes ensuring all statutory accounts are produced to the relevant accounting standards and in accordance with their filing deadlines
  • Key contact with external auditors for each Company
  • Ownership of statutory and taxation entries maintained within the accounting system
  • Prepare and assist the Group’s tax advisers with submitting Corporation Tax returns for all relevant companies ensuring compliance to all legislation and accounting standards
  • Support FD, and management team in building and submitting annual business plans/budgets, quarterly forecasts etc.
  • Lead projects to drive efficiencies and compliance

Person Specification:

Applicants must have:

 

  • ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent (part qualified with appropriate experience considered)
  • Advanced MS Excel knowledge
  • Intermediate – Knowledge of FRS102. Latest Accounting Standards
  • Intermediate – VAT and Corporation Tax calculations
  • Good Supervisory Skills
  • Good Communication Skills
  • Good time management and working to reporting deadlines

 

 

The following skills and experience would be advantageous:

 

  • Evision software experience for the residential development business and Sage for the Commercial Property business.
  • Property Sector experience
  • Knowledge of CIS

Salary between £45k-£60k + bonus + excellent other benefits.
