FP&A Business Partner  | London | Technology / Retail 

 

The FP&A Business Partner role will be part of a dynamic team that undertakes financial planning and analysis (FP&A) supporting the Group. This role is responsible for FP&A for Tech and Digital (people and services), which represents a significant cost base with teams split across several offices (some overseas travel may be required).

This role partners with Directors across the two functions, setting stretching (but achievable) financial plans and working with teams to achieve these plans, drive synergies and create analysis to demonstrate value creation to the wider business.

Responsibilities

  • Key business partner for the Technology & Digital teams
  • Working with the Tech and Digital leadership teams to help them understand their budgets and work through the financial impact of decisions.
  • Working with the accounting teams to ensure the monthly figures are materially accurate (prepayments/accruals/capex reflected), correctly presented by type of costs and appropriately shared between brands.
  • Produce monthly reporting including variance analysis vs budget
  • Calculate capitalisation of people
  • Calculate and track Capex spend.
  • Create effective and credible partnerships by working collaboratively to support and challenge stakeholders in all finance and accounting matters including budgeting, forecasting, expense/PO tracking and control.
  • Identify business trends and provide insight to enhance performance and profitability by proactively seeking opportunities to reduce costs, increase value or synergise.
  • Drive continuous improvements across processes and outputs to best fit the needs of the business.

Experience necessary

  • Excellent financial modelling, data manipulation and Excel skills.
  • Excellent business partnering skills.
  • Ability to link financial results and outcomes to operational and commercial trends.
  • Stong stakeholder management experience
  • Ability to work independently
  • Eagerness to work in an extremely fast paced environment.
  • Experience working with retail, e-commerce, manufacturing, distribution or technology businesses.
  • Qualified Accountant, MBA qualified or equivalent with some PQE experience. 
  • Commercially astute with the ability to analyse financial information and provide commentary
  • Strong business partnering skills.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to adapt to changing business needs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • European languages beneficial (Spanish, French, German etc)
