Communicate are working with one of the world's largest retailers to help them with the recruitment of a Finance Manager to join there growing finance function.

The Role

You will be providing a high level of financial support, challenge and control for the finance team. This is a key position where you will be given full ownership and accountability in driving the success of some of the world’s biggest brands, as well as an opportunity to establish yourself as a true Finance Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Running month end close activities and ensuring monthly reporting in accordance with Group Financial policy and procedures, requirements and timelines
  • Balance sheet integrity and control reviewing reconciliations monthly
  • Preparation of statutory accounts and liaising with external auditors
  • Tax compliance including monthly VAT reporting
  • Ensuring compliance with internal controls and process improvement. Working alongside the group controls team and internal audit
  • Developing the financial controls environment within the business
  • Liaising with the shared service centre and being the point person for the business
  • Covering a set of RB businesses in UK and Ireland
  • Review of work performance by outsourced shared service centre
  • Submission of results to corporate HQ in accordance with timelines and policy and procedures
  • Lead process improvement initiatives

Professional Qualifications and Personal Attributes

  • The position is suitable for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CA) with strong experience in providing technical accounting advice

The role is is a 6 month interim role to start in April 2019.
