Research Finance Officer

SF Group are recruiting a Research Finance Officer for our Birmingham based client on a permanent basis. This role is focused around research funding, project costing/spend and business partnering. You will work closely with a number of stakeholders across the business and be pivotal in decision making. My client is looking for the ideal candidate to possess strong project, grant funding and/or research finance experience and ideally be looking for a role where you can add value and forge relationships with key stakeholders.

There is a strong emphasis on funding compliance, risk management and helping front line personal understand their financial constraints and commitments. You will monitor a number of projects at different cycles and be change orientated in a fast paced environment. You will be confident in your approach as there will be a few high-risk projects.

Candidates with a background in Audit, Funding, Change and Financial claims to external bodies will put you in good stead. Also, ERDF/EDF and grant funding will assist in decision making and project exposure. Excellent communication skills are essential as there will be continuous liaison with non-finance personnel across a range of diverse departments and directors of professional services.
