Assistant Accountant

Elevation Accountancy & Finance are currently recruiting an Assistant Accountant for a successful growing business based in Wakefield, this is a perfect opportunity for someone studying AAT and interested in progressing into a Financial Accounting role in time.

On a day to day basis your role as Assistant Accountant will look like:
*Sales ledger and credit control
*Month end journals, reports and reconciliations
*Responsibility for some month end journals to achieve strict group deadlines
*Various Financial and non-financial KPI's reporting
*Product costing and overhead maintenance
*Weekly/ Monthly Variance analysis
*Assisting in year-end preparation and audit information preparation
*Participation in departmental improvement initiatives
*Participate in new system implementation as required
*Involvement in purchase ledger duties
*Backup for monthly payroll
*Preparation of Bank payment runs
*Posting/Recording Cashbook and Bank reconciliation
*Maintain Fixed Asset register
*Group Insurance control
*Participation in VAT return preparation

Your profile:
*Studying towards AAT Qualification
*Good experience of using ERP systems such as JD Edwards, SAP, Access Supply chain
*High degree of computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Excel
*Able to manage own workload, staff and work to tight deadlines
*Able to communicate effectively, with both Finance and non-Finance staff
*Willing to work beyond standard hours as necessary to meet deadlines

£22,000-£26,000 for the right candidate
