Do you have an interest in Corporate Finance and Private Equity? Would you like to work for a corporate firm based in the heart of Birmingham City Centre, and join them as their Fund Accountant? This is an amazing opportunity for a Fund Accountant to support the Accounting, Reporting, Treasury, Audit and Tax of private equity funds, investment vehicles and structured products.
As Fund Accountant, your key responsibilities will include:
Prepare quarterly Management Accounts for Clients' managed funds.
Develop a clear understanding of Client reporting requirements, the structure of the existing reports and Client deliverables.
- Prepare timely and accurate year-end support files for annual audits, as required.
Prepare draft annual financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP, US GAAP and Lux GAAP.
Liaise with auditors and tax advisers to ensure delivery of completed Client lists and timely completion of audit and tax engagements.
Prepare and maintain performance returns for all funds in a timely manner.
Develop a clear understanding of the cash management function of the funds.
Work with and provide support to the Treasury team as and when required, including but not limited to: performing bank reconciliations, Cash Management Reports, daily liquidity monitoring, invoice and payment set-up.
Complete jurisdictional regulatory returns as and when required.
The successful Fund Accountant is likely to be a Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) with a good technical accounting ability. Someone with a Practice background, or Financial Services experience would be an advantage, as would previous private equity exposure or an understanding of fund/group structures. Most importantly is the desire to get into this exciting sector - someone who has commercial business acumen, with excellent attention to detail and strong organisational, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to speak German for this role would also be highly desirable, though not essential.
The package on offer for this exciting Fund Accountant position is a base salary of up to £45,000, plus a strong benefits package including excellent defined-contributory pension scheme, private healthcare, bonus, life insurance, travel insurance, and other flexible benefits that will enhance the package financially.
