About this role
We are a business in an exciting transformation phase. We’ve got a new business model and a new executive team. The Tax Accountant is a key role for us as we evolve as a business and a finance function. Working alongside our external advisors, this role will support the Group’s tax compliance requirements and provide support to all areas of the business. This is a broad role spanning both direct and indirect tax with the opportunity for further professional development. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing finance team in a fast paced PLC environment. You will gain valuable exposure to the wider business along with support and direction to succeed in the role. You will also have the ability to make a real impact with your work.

What you’ll be doing
• Preparation and declaration of VAT returns (UK and European), EC Sales Lists and Intrastat
• Preparation of VAT reconciliations
• VAT compliant Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes and invoice review
• Maintaining VAT set up in our ERP systems
• Supporting VAT administration and documentation
• Support the Group’s corporate tax compliance
• Support the completion of tax packs across the Group
• Preparation of tax journals, tax calculations and tax disclosures for statutory purposes
• Preparation of PSA submissions
• Support Business Risk Review with HMRC
• Communication with tax authorities

About You
You’ll be able to demonstrate your tax experience and desire to specialise in tax along with a good knowledge of accounting principles. To be successful in this role you will have effective analytical and problem solving skills, be able to communicate with all types of internal and external stakeholders and be able to demonstrate experience in process efficiencies and improvements. You’ll be comfortable with change and enjoy coming up with new ideas.
