Our client is a private-equity backed medical devices manufacturer based in the UK with offices in Europe and the US. This SME is enjoying rapid growth. To support expansion, the CFO is looking to recruit a technically strong Head of Group Finance. This is the No.2 role in the finance team.
Responsibilities include:
- Management of the finance team alongside the CFO; liaising with the UK and international finance personnel
- Collate, review, challenge & consolidate the monthly accounts and other reporting; support the CFO in publishing the Board Management Information Pack (IFRS)
- Attend to technical issues such a transfer pricing, currency translation and R&D accounting
- Business modelling & annual budgeting
- Ensure the correct operation of internal controls
- Develop the external audit relationship & manage audit process
- Ensure that reporting and tax deadlines are met
- Treasury management
- Ensure compliance & forward visibility of loan covenants
- Key support to CEO, CFO & finance team
Skills/Abilities
- Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA), ideally from top 10 accounting practice
- Advanced Excel & IT skills (SAP knowledge – advantage)
- Excellent presentation, communication & time management skills
- Technology, manufacturing or life sciences industry experience will be beneficial
- Good working knowledge of UK tax is highly desirable
