Our client is a highly successful SME Design and manufacturing business. The company possesses an impressive portfolio of luxury consumer brands not only in the UK but also overseas. It is seeking to recruit a qualified accountant to head up its Finance team and support the business in meeting its ever-changing demands.

Job Specification

*Working as part of its Head Office team, this role primarily has oversight of and responsibility for financial reporting & statutory compliance for its UK Company and its US subsidiary. This includes developing and ensuring integrity of the financial processes and controls, responsibility for the timely provision of periodic reports and management accounts, as well as maintaining accurate records in accordance with UK/US GAAP and liaising with the companies' auditors.

*Reporting to the Board, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Finance and IT functions, and for the management and mentoring of the accountancy and office staff.

*The Group Financial Controller will be working closely with the Finance Business Partner (a Director) in support of the wider organisation, and in the development of reporting systems to improve the flow of information for decision making.

*Specific responsibilities include cash flow and foreign exchange management, credit control, funding for capital projects, signing off balance sheet reconciliations. In addition, he/she will be responsible for submissions to HMRC and IRS, including Corporation Tax, VAT, Intrastat, & R&D tax relief returns. Additional Responsibilities include Company Secretarial matters including managing the company's insurances.

Person Specification

*Fully qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA accountant.
*Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a Financial Controller/Finance Manager position. Experience of working within the manufacturing/construction industry will be essential. An understanding of accounting in a service- based organisation would be advantageous.
*Experience of working within a multi-currency organisation is essential as is sound knowledge of UK GAAP. Experience of US GAAP would be advantageous.
*High proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential. Proficiency with other Microsoft Office applications, and an understanding of relational databases (SQL) would be advantageous.
*A strong candidate for this position will be organised, analytical, and be eager to develop a progressive accounting function. Attention to detail, and self-motivation will also be considered important attributes.
*Salary and other benefits - £45,000 - £55,000 + Car Allowance, pension, and 5 weeks holidays.
