Part Qualified Accountant

Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire

30-40k + pension, healthcare, 28 days hols and study package.

This exciting opportunity is working within £300m t/o division of a major plc.  The team delivers a range of solutions to help clients maintain their buildings, to save time, and improve performance. They also provide specialist interior and exterior finishing services, and the latest off-site fabrication and virtual modelling techniques. They also create joint ventures (JV’s) with other areas of the business and joining them means that you could be involved in some of the UK’s most iconic development projects.

Support the Finance Director and Financial controller in providing first-class finance advice, guidance and challenge to the business ensuring timely and accurate reporting and analysis of the costs, including payroll costs are maintained within the financial systems.

This is a really varied role and offers a significant opportunity for the right person to gain a breadth of experience and progrss within the business.

Key Accountabilities

 

 

  • Assisting with the budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Working as part of a team to implement new systems and process improvement.
  • Delivering month end and period end close as well as being involved with year-end.
  • Support with recharging - Assist the FC in preparing supporting schedules for client / JV audits.
  • Complete Bid cost analysis – provide timely and accurate analysis and reporting of the businesses bid costs.
  • Assist the Financial controller in producing the monthly finance report.
  • Assist in the review of all financial reports and processes to cut out duplication and improve the timeliness, accuracy, and format of data.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations – timely and accurate completion of balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Process the weekly and monthly payroll costs into the finance system and be the point of contact for payroll recharge queries.
  • VAT returns
  • Adhoc duties - other duties as required including a range of exciting business transformation projects.


Working Environment

 

 

 

  • The Finance team of six are based in Hertfordshire as part of a wider finance function with over 100 heads.
  • As a result, there are significant opportunities for progression within the business.

Person Specification

 

 

  • Part-Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/ACMA)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills including working knowledge of formulae
  • Inquisitive mind with a thirst for improvement
  • Experience working within a complex company who deal with JV's or project accounting.
