Finance Business Partner

Our client are a leading infrastructure services company that deliver services in transportation, the built environment and open spaces for communities and business, are looking for a Finance Business Partner to join their team to take responsibility for interpreting, explaining and driving performance within the business unit.

Key Responsibilities of the Finance Business Partner:

• To be responsible for the preparation of the monthly accounts, rolling forecasts, MLO (Most Likely Outturn) and the annual budget(s)
• To ensure forecasts and budgets have been developed from a sound basis, and key assumptions have been tested
• To develop metrics/KPI’s to monitor operational performance, and to track and report on cost saving initiatives
• To review and challenge existing processes and procedures, and to identify areas of weakness which need to be addressed
• To drive improvements in processes by bringing together other parts of the business to implement change
• To manage capital expenditure in line with the agreed budget
• To provide financial and commercial support to the senior managers of the business
• To provide ad-hoc analysis and insights on specific issues
• To provide input into developing strong supply chain partners
• To monitor overdue debts and WIP and to report on accordingly
• To provide financial input to support bids as when required
• To develop competitor information which can be used to assist management in identifying areas of best practice

The successful candidate will ideally be a qualified accountant with exceptional communication and presentation skills, and previous experience working as a Finance Business Partner ideally from the Construction/Engineering/FM or similar industry. Strong Excel skills are a must, and any Oracle experience would be nice to have.
