The Role

As Financial Reporting Manager we will have a major part to play in ensuring the business is not only meeting its internal and external reporting deadlines but that the information provided is accurate and relevant.

  • Ensure period-end inventory and cost of sales elements of the financial statements are complete, accurate and closed in a timely manner within internal/external guidelines
  • Support the Director of Group Financial Control with external tax accounting and reporting
  • Reviewing the cost of sales to ensure that revenue recognised has the equivalent costs in the Profit & Loss account
  • Responsibility for rolling out, and improving where possible, current inventory management processes
  • Working closely with operational personnel - stores, MP&L, Purchasing, Finance etc to maintain the integrity of the inventory listings
  • Oversight and interrogation of Bills of Materials used to ensure accurate reporting
  • Leading the periodic inventory counting processes, including liaising with external and internal auditors as required
  • Drafting of key audit committee documents, including technical analysis papers


The Person

We are looking for an exceptional candidate who has that blend of strong technical know-how and commercial awareness, the ability and the desire to want to engage with the operational teams.

  • ACA/CIMA qualification desirable
  • Tax accounting experience
  • PLC financial reporting and document drafting experience
  • Experience of inventory accounting desirable
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Microsoft AX accounting package advantageous
  • Methodical and process driven mindset with the ability to present and seek feedback at all levels within the business
