Payments and Banking Specialist

Reporting to the Finance Manager Treasury, the Payments & Banking Specialist is a key position within our Finance Team responsible for the processing of all non-supplier payments, uploading bank statements, reporting & MI for cash in transit and card acquiring across Jet2, Jet2holidays, Dart Group, Jet2 Transport and various Jet2 Support Services branches.

You will be required to process payments via multiple online banking platforms to settle UK and overseas payroll, VAT, air passenger duty, aircraft purchases, intercompany settlements, EU261 claims, and corporation tax payments. You will also assist to maintain all cash books for Jet2, Jet2holidays, Dart Group, Jet2 Transport and various Jet2 Support Services divisions by uploading bank statements, processing of cash journals, banking and raising cheques.

Liaising with UK and overseas bases, Group Internal Audit, Cabin Crew, Ground Operations representatives and third-party suppliers you will ensure all cash for inflight sales and ticket desk revenues is collected and processed in a timely manner, updating and maintaining departmental summary tables, analyse and report on supplier performance against SLA's. You will provide first point of contact for the banks, acquirers, payment gateways and internal colleagues regarding day to day banking and payment related queries and be responsible for producing balance sheet reconciliations as per the month end timetable, highlighting any discrepancies, and ensuring these are resolved within the month.

The ability to communicate and establish effective working relationships with colleagues and third parties at all levels is key. You must be able to demonstrate a positive 'can do' attitude and strong team ethic. Candidates are always also expected to be self - motivated and able to work to short and changing timescales acting with integrity. General corporate banking and payments knowledge is essential, whilst payment gateways and merchant acquiring knowledge is preferable, but not essential. You will be a comfortable and competent user of Microsoft Excel; to maintain the integrity of the data when using large volumes of data, as well as able to use the standard advanced functions such as VLOOKUP's, SUMIF(S), Pivot Tables and other complex formulae.
