Finance Manager

A great opportunity for a Finance Manager has surfaced at a BioTech/Bio Pharma company in Cambridgeshire. The company delivers life-changing treatments to cancer patients.

Role Description

Reporting to the Financial Controller, this Finance Manager role will be pivotal in delivering an efficient and effective financial reporting function. You will drive improvement across all areas of finance, taking full ownership of the reporting cycle and taking the lead on upcoming projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial reporting - Ownership of all aspects of financial reporting, including group consolidation and management of the external audit process
• Taxation - Liaison with external advisors to ensure that F-star is compliant with all aspects of corporation tax and VAT. Provision of PAYE support to the Human Resources team
• Technical support - Technical input into the deal process, including IFRS accounting treatment and tax considerations
• Internal controls - Implementation of a best practice control environment, working closely with business leads to establish control integrity across all areas
• Finance system - Ownership of master data and working with external consultants to utilise the system capabilities to drive maximum efficiency in the financial reporting processes
• Ad hoc projects - Provide leadership on financial projects that will arise as part of our ambitious growth plans

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
• Good working knowledge of IFRS
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to deal with ambiguity; proven track record of managing competing priorities and achieving deadlines
• Self-starter who can work independently
• Flexible and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  Intermediate to advanced applications software expertise (Excel and accounting software)
