My client is a vertically integrated investor and developer who are a leader on European Student Accommodation. They are currently focused on the UK & Pan European markets with a plan to expand into the Northern & Southern European markets. Their experience spans over 10 years and they are backed by a smart and very well financed PE investment business. 

The company is looking for a commercially minded FP&A Manager to support the development and execution of the business strategy. Reporting to CFO, you will have proven experience within Property Development/RE funds sector working at a senior level.

Responsibilities involve:

  • Improve the flow of financial information to the organisation and its business partners
  • Development of a forward thinking strategic financial model & review of investment appraisals
  • Attending operational meetings and working closely with senior management; co-ordinate with stakeholders to drive the annual strategic planning and budgeting processes
  • Lead the various processes including Cost control, Cash flow forecasting, Tax compliance and reporting and maintain strong financial controls.
  • Delivering the annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
  • Leading the production of the 5-year business plan, annual budget, in-year forecast and monthly & quarterly reporting processes.
  • Developing enhanced reporting of financial and non-financial performance metrics in order to meet the evolving needs of the business.
  • Providing ad-hoc analysis in respect of a range of projects and business activities.
  • Supporting the CFO and CEO with the provision of commercial decision making
  • Strong experience of DCF analysis and property appraisal techniques (e.g. residual value calculations)

Candidate profile

  • Ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with commercial acumen who is experienced in financial planning & analysis and financial modelling & reporting, with this experience having been gained within a property environment.
  • The candidate must have good interpersonal skills and be confident interacting with financial and non-financial colleagues up to and including Board level.
  • A credible business partner from the get-go, you’ll be relied upon to build robust relationships with your stakeholders
  • You should also be able to demonstrate a solid track record of driving businesses through commercial decision making, identifying risks and creating value
  • Taking accountability for upwards financial planning and analysis of construction capital, rent, rates, overheads etc and providing month end, annual budget, quarterly forecasts and business plans.
