I am currently working on behalf of an established, private equity-backed, leisure company looking to double in revenue over the next 2 years. They are looking to continue their domestic growth, organically as well as via acquisition, venturing into new markets in UK and Europe. They are looking to go through a successful PE exit in the next 3 years, making this a great opportunity for someone to establish themselves within a business and get hands-on experience of a sale process on their CV. The CFO has recently come through a successfully sale processes and they have a track record of promoting members of the finance team.
The Role:
This role reports directly into the Group FC and you are stepping into a finance team of 8. Acquisition accounting to IFRS standard. You would be assisting in complex consolidation of group reporting and year-end preparation. Dealing with audit queries and liaising with external auditors. You would be the lead on preparation of statutory accounts. Ad-hoc tasks as required by the Group FC and CFO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing monthly and annual budgeting processes, quarterly forecasting process, and monitoring and updating our long-term plan
- Assisting in investment decisions relating to marketing choices, intellectual property, IT and personnel
- Business partnering with senior management team to optimise financial performance
- Monitoring our working capital throughout to maximise efficiency
- Working with procurement team to maximise purchasing efficiency
- Continuous improvement of our Internal Control and Risk Management environment
- As a financial expert, assisting across the business on a wide range of projects
Key Requirements:
- ACA/ACCA or equivalent
- Experience in Private Equity / Multi-site / Leisure (preferable)
- Experience in IFRS reporting and knowledge of current standards
- Experience in group consolidation
- Experience in preparing year end for audit
- Exposure to acquisition accounting
- Experience in leisure businesses (preferable)
