New Financial Controller Role for Growing Consultancy Business Cheshire

My exclusive client are a growing consultancy business based in Cheshire. Due to growth, they are looking for a financial controller to bridge the gap between the finance director and finance team in a newly created position.

Your new role

  • One of the first projects for the successful candidate will be to transition the financial record keeping from SAGE 50 accounts to the cloud version.
  • Be a strong number 2 in the finance team who can deputise for the Finance Director where needed.
  • Prepare management accounts for review including the calculation and posting of accruals and prepayments
  • Manage the new month end processes providing assistance to other members of the finance team where required
  • Prepare statutory accounts for the 3 legal entities within the group
  • Manage the quarterly VAT return process from reconciling and checking entries to calculating reclaimable VAT on mileage expenses and filing the return and ensuring the liability is paid.
  • Prepare information for auditors and coordinate the fulfilment of the audit request for information.
  • Prepare information requested by auditors to enable them to calculate the corporation tax liability
  • Prepare information to report to the bank on a monthly basis
  • Optimise the use of SAGE within the business
  • Manage the implementation of "making tax digital"


What you'll need to succeed
You will ideally be a qualified accountant, although QBE would be suitable for this position. You will need experience in the above as well as management experience.
