Management Accountant

State of the art premises in Manchester is where the role will be based. The successful management accountant will need to enjoy and thrive from working in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure.

About the role

The management accountant will provide support to the Senior Management Accountant whilst working closely with other key business partners to produce the management accounts and insightful reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the review of all overheads such as IT, property and marketing costs against budget/reforecasts/last year and explain any variances
• Business partner with department heads and other members of the business to proactively reduce costs and drive through cost improvements
• Assist with the production of detailed monthly management accounts for the ecommerce, retail and wholesale businesses
• Implement improvements to processes and become a SAP expert user
• Completion of balance sheet reconciliations such as accruals and prepayments reporting any risk or opportunity on a timely basis
• Support the wider finance team with the business partnering of other key areas such as franchise and wholesale
• Ensure the ERP system is working as designed, suggesting improvements where possible
• Support the wider Finance teams to resolve more complex issues
• To support the continuous improvement of procedures to improve efficiency and the control environment of the function through the development of relationships with own team members and other departments
• To assist the finance department with any ad-hoc duties

Person profile

• Part or newly qualified CIMA, ACCA, ACA
• SAP
• Management accounts experience with a commercial edge
• Advanced excel skills with the capability to manipulate large volumes of data
• Experience of working in a fast paced, changeable finance environment
• FMCG/Retail Industry knowledge would be highly beneficial
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High attention to detail, self starter who strives to continuously improve their processes and skillset
