Interim Financial Controller

We have partnered with a fast growth, dynamic, private equity-backed SME based in central London. The business has grown in both the UK and US and is looking to drive further growth, particularly in the US, over the next 12 months as well as raising series A capital.

As a result, the CFO needs an interim financial controller to help get the finance function into better shape and drive better reporting/MI to enable the business to grow and present a clear commercial picture to potential investors.

Responsibilities include:

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual close processes
• Design and implement better processes around month end, cashflow, budgeting and forecasting
• Design and implement better internal financial control, particularly within AP and AR and around balance sheet reconciliation
• Produce forecasts and budgets for the business;
• Produce short term cash forecasts and manage cash day to day;
• Group reporting; Lead on regulatory compliance and reporting, including VAT
• Provide technical and business support to the Senior Leadership Team
• Providing mentorship to the team assisting with development and career progression

The ideal candidate will have/be

• Evidence of successful turnaround in interim controllership roles where control has been lacking
• Experience of fast growth SMEs, ideally in a private equity backed environment
• Able to work to deadlines in a time pressured and ever-changing environment with a ‘get stuff done’ attitude
• Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
• Investigative with a robust nature, and able to challenge the Company management where appropriate
• Excel proficiency highly desirable
• Sense of humour
• Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA)

This is a 3 to 6 month contract starting immediately and paying between £400-500 depending on experience.
