Our client, an exciting and fast paced services business with offices in London and Kent, is looking to appoint a Commercial Finance Manager to join their finance team in Central London. Acting as a key business partner to the executive and operational teams, the Commercial Finance Manager will provide financial and commercial analysis to assist in the delivery of the business’s strategic plans and financial goals.

Core responsibilities:

  • Working with the business to ensure each department understands and maintains their budget
  • Reviewing and providing monthly analysis of key cost lines and reporting on variances to budget
  • Business partner with the senior management team to achieve objectives and provide financial direction and support
  • Business partner with the HR team to ensure tracking of staff KPI data is timely, accurate and analysed in order to inform the wider business.
  • In depth KPI analysis and reporting
  • Supporting the budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Working with the business to better understand the sensitivities affecting costs, to ensure future budgeting and reporting reflects the business and its needs more accurately
  • Create financial models to analyse impacts of staffing changes, including national living wage or pay increase impacts.
  • Ad-hoc financial modelling and scenario analysis
  • To assist the Head of Commercial Finance, Finance Director and Group CFO with ad-hoc projects as required

Role requirements:

A qualified accountant with a strong commercial background (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or qualified by experience

  • Ability to translate complex financial information to the business in an understandable and concise format
  • Ability to communicate with both finance and non-financial individuals alike
  • Motivated to progress within the finance function of a growing business
  • Organised and able to manage a variety of stakeholders under tight deadlines
  • Ability to identify issues and use initiative to solve problems
  • Team player with willingness to help others and go above and beyond their formal role
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong system skills including intermediate excel
