Regional Accountant | up to £40k | Wilmslow | ACA CIMA ACCA | High Growth Business with Excellent Progression
Axon Moore is working with a market leading construction firm with operations across the UK and offices in strategic regional locations. Multi-award winning and with a reputation for excellence and quality work, our client is keen to position themselves for future growth with the addition of a strong Regional Accountant.
About the role
This role sits within the Northern region which, with over 50 years in business, is the most established in the Group and accounts for over half of all revenue. As the role is based in the Group head office, an element of the role will involve working closely with senior management on Group-wide tasks. Reporting into the Regional Financial Controller, the successful candidate will be a senior member of the finance team with responsibility for leading on the production and review of key reports used by the business, and management of the monthly reporting cycle. Additional responsibilities will include sales/margin/cashflow reporting against periodic and annual targets. There will also be a hands-on role in the budgeting and forecasting.

Key roles and responsibilities
- Produce projected final accounts of multiple projects across the business with a view to determining gross margins
- KPI and performance monitoring against agreed targets to ensure correct allocation of resources in line with business goals
- Prepare monthly management accounts and KPI information with Group and regional management in accordance with monthly timetables
- Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are accurate and up to date
- Preparation and comparison of weekly cashflow forecasts
- Preparation of all budgets and forecasts
- Ensure all financial information is accurate, consistent, reliable and in line with Group standards and processes
- Act as point of contact for finance department alongside Regional Finance Controller
Experience Required
- Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent) accountant
- Experience of management accounting, technical accounting standards and financial controls
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and effectively prioritise workloads
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with finance and non-finance colleagues across the business
- A keen eye for detail and the ability to understand systems and processes
- Strong Excel skills including use of SUMIF, VLOOKUP and pivot tables
- Ability to drive change by identifying technological solutions to problems, such as amending ERP systems
- A proven track record of process improvement, and a desire to bring new ideas and innovation to the role rather than business as usual
