Accountant

Based close to Clapham Station in London my client is an award winning Publisher with a current vacancy for a Company Accountant Employing 50 staff, they are very profitable and staff turnover is very low, resulting in many long service awards. The successful candidate would report directly to the Company Directors and would have support from a full time bookkeeper. Key responsibilities would include: Production of monthly Financial Positions, showing the gross profit contribution by title Production of overdue debt report and chasing in of overdue debts Production of monthly management accounts Managing Cashflow requirement and producing reports to discuss with the directors Management of supplier payments Producing annual management report to detail company’s financial position Monitoring and reconciliation of UK distributor third party reports Supervision of bookkeeper and review of reconciliations produced Preparation and filing of monthly VAT returns Including EC form 101 Providing data and liaison with the Royalties Agent to ensure accurate payments to authors on a quarterly basis Valuation of stock Producing Year end accounts and supporting schedules to provide to the company’s accountants Liaison with the payroll provider and assistance with in-house payroll queries Assistance with GDPR legislation Maintenance of auto-enrolment schedule, regular monthly administration/upload and liaison with pensions fund provider over queries Administration and reconciliation of company credit cards Timely recording of rights and co-editions income onto the Biblio database Various ad hoc reports and advice to senior management as required Experience of the publishing sector would be beneficial, as would an understanding of database structures and payroll/IT
