We have an opportunity to lead and manage our Management Accounting Central Reporting Team.

The reporting team is embedded within management accounts to support and enable the work of the management accounting services, through carrying out central processes across directorates and projects and acting as a gatekeeper for SAP master data.

The team oversees staffing budget confirmation centrally on behalf of all Finance Business Partners as part of the vacancy management processes, manage DVSA financial coding configuration, system integrity and have frequent contact with our Shared Service provider. The team carry out numerous processes relating to budget, forecast and LTFF, report building, distribution and maintenance as well as period close processes and other ad hoc duties.

  • You will be responsible for SAP configuration, the development of better, quicker and more customer focused management reporting, establishing, prioritising and meeting customer needs. You will review and address system and process issues raised by customers, applying consistency and exploiting current system capabilities to deliver needs.
  • You will be responsible for maintaining and improving a robust framework of controls to ensure data integrity and that all management reporting is aligned to the ledgers.
  • You will be a Subject Matter Expert to ensure DVSA’s reporting needs are explained and captured in any new system developments. 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Business as Usual finance reporting and the development of a standard suite of reporting for all budget holders
  • SAP configuration and development, including escalation and reporting issues
  • Developing finance reporting to align to the project reporting tool
  • Line Management responsibilities for a small team

You will have the option to work in either our Swansea, Bristol or Nottingham offices. If located in Bristol or Nottingham, you will be expected to work from the Swansea office for a minimum of 2 days per week.

About you:

  • You will either be a full or part qualified accountant with experience of the preparation and production of financial plans and financial management accounts.
  • You have previous experience of leading and managing a successful team to provide a quality service and drive continuous improvement.
  • You will have experience of delivering changes in management accounting deliverables and developing reporting solutions through a range of media, to include integration of financial and non-financial information.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to relay complex financial concepts to a broad range of audiences. With a high attention to detail you have the ability to carry out quality control checks and identify risks.
  • You will be a confident and expert Excel user, comfortable with large datasets and experienced in establishing checks and controls to validate data integrity.
