Our client, a well-known international business, seeks a Part-Time (3 days per week) UK Group Tax Manager role to help strengthen its European tax team.

Reporting to the Head of European Tax, the role holder will take responsibility for the effective management of UK corporation tax and VAT for the Group.
You will coordinate the provision of UK tax shared services to UK businesses of the Group, including annual corporation tax compliance and supporting the UK tax aspects of business, organisational and systems change. This will entail active business partnering with relevant UK management, finance and commercial teams.

The role holder will develop and communicate group policies that relate to the UK companies, co-ordinate the mandatory UK tax interactions between members of the UK tax group where UK tax laws operate on a group-wide basis, and manage central UK tax group requirements

As the lead on UK tax matters, this role entails regular interaction with management within the UK businesses and occasional travel to the company's European office for key regional tax meetings and to strengthen working relationships.

Applicants should hold a full accounting or tax qualification - ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent and have a minimum of 5 years experience, including time spent in tax practice working with large UK and multinational clients and/or within the in-house tax team of a multinational organisation with responsibility for UK tax.

Skills / Experience / Attributes:

  • Fully qualified accountant or tax professional - ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent
  • Strong technical knowledge and practical experience in UK and international taxation, including corporate income tax and VAT.
  • Exposure to transfer pricing experience is an advantage but not essential.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Ability to manage a small team
  • Microsoft Office proficiency, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
