Our client, an international scientific engineering company, require a Financial Controller to provide technical accounting support to group finance, tax, treasury, regional finance and the wider business.

This is a key finance role within a small head office team. Reporting to the Head of Accounting and Reporting, but working closely with the whole senior finance team. While this role requires strong technical accounting experience, it also needs an individual who can use this knowledge to partner with the business in areas such as new contracts and investment proposals. This is an excellent stepping stone towards a career in senior finance.

The ideal profile is a qualified chartered accountant from "Big Four" or large practice background with 3-5 years post-qualified experience in a large / international corporate environment. Strong technical finance knowledge, including experience of IFRS. Experience of SAP (BPC would be advantagious but not essential), strong MS Office coupled with excellent interpersonal skills and commercial acumen.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Technical financial support to Group Finance, Tax, Treasury, Regional Finance and wider business.
  • Review / update / implementation of new/proposed accounting standards and impact on Group Accounting Policies
  • Business Partner with new contracts, amendments and investment proposals
  • Develop strong busines understanding
  • Financial reporting for subsidiaries under local GAAP
  • Assist with half yearly / annual returns / disclosures 
  • Assist with Group monthly consolidation
  • Ensure strong and effective financial control framework
  • Finance related projects
