Finance Manager

A market leading organisation in Brighton is seeking a Finance Manager to join their team on a permanent, full time basis.

About the Role

The main responsibility of the Finance Manger will be to deliver astute monthly reporting across all operational finance streams. Key areas of focus will include root cause analysis, monthly balance sheet reconciliations, cash allocations, claims processing and commission payments.

The Finance Manager will also oversee the control and completion of all related banking administration duties including maintenance to counterparty limits, updating mandates and the regular rationalisation of fees and accounts.

Responsibilities will include:

• Periodic balance sheet reconciliations across different operational finance work streams, including allocation of premium, claim reimbursement payments, stale dated cheques, returned payments etc.
• Identification of root cause issues and failures within processes or systems presenting reconciliation issues
• Accurate reconciliation of bank account statements and credit card statements
• Maintenance of the internal Delegation of Authority policy
• Ensure adherence to regulatory standards, such as Anti-Money laundering compliance and sanction compliance
• Suggest and escalate opportunities to improve process and service delivery
• Ensure adherence to the parameters and protocols of the Finance Control policy

Candidate Requirements

The successful Finance Manager will have the following:

• Qualified / part qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
• Strong and proven experience of reconciliation
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
• Strong track record of working effectively within a team environment
• The ability to work deadlines, achieve and exceed targets and display resilience and ingenuity in the process
