A newly created position within a FTSE business in central Reading looking for a practice trained accountant who is planning on moving into a commercially focused position partnering with the wider group and engaging on all forecasting and modelling activities.

Description

The Commercial Accountant will be responsible for the execution of accounting and period close activities within the Commercial and Regulation finance team. This includes month end accruals and prepayments, investigation of key variances and detailed commentary. The role also involves reporting consolidated results, tracking KPIs and maintaining and improving financial controls. Another key element of the role is the review and challenge of business forecasts, preparation of Balance Sheet and cash forecasts and improvement of the overall forecast process. The successful candidate will liaise with commercial teams to discuss, analyse and submit forecasts. The role also involves discussion with commercial teams, wider finance and Treasury to prepare and report against Balance Sheet and cash forecast positions and streamline the Group forecast process.

Profile

Our client are looking for a chartered accountant (ACCA, ICAEW, ICAS, CIMA, CIPFA or similar) with experience working either within an audit practice or in a comparative organisation. You will have excellent knowledge of accounting procedures, good awareness of accounting standards and proficient with Microsoft Excel.

You will be able to work well in a team and alone and will thrive on delivering high quality work to tight deadlines. You will have an analytical mindset and can communicate effectively, with an ability to develop new reports and financial controls in a changing business environment.

Job Offer

For the successful candidate a package of up to £56,000 with a 10% Bonus and a competitive benefits package.
